DazzlersAs if they were only cuddly kittens, the well-dressed young man lies on the backs of the big cats. The portrait photo as the stage of self-dramatization – the exhibition Piga Picha! is showing East African portrait photography from the past 100 years. Long recognized as an art form on the west coast of the continent, the East African tradition is not well known. After its presentation at the Goethe-Institut Nairobi the exhibition will be shown in autumn at the Iwalewa-Haus in Bayreuth which helped research the project.
