Eye for EyeTo close your eyes for just a moment, as commuters do in the subway at six o’clock after squeezing themselves into the cars? Here, on the stage of the Almancı Festival in Ankara, that’s not possible. In the performance Eye for Eye, Turkish-German artist Nezaket Ekici, asks a member of the audience on stage and sits across from them. The two strangers look at one another unshakably. On a screen the enlarged eyes of the pair are projected and the audience can observe their reactions: the tension, the concentration, the relief, a smile. Turkish-German artists presented their images, choreography and plays here for Almancı and let themselves be inspired by the arts scene in Ankara.
