Group Picture with President

1989, Prien am Chiemsee: A group of language students from the local Goethe-Institut poses for a group picture, among them an ambitious young man from Zagreb. His name is Ivo Josipović and he is standing in the second row, the fifth from the left. Back at home, he works as a lawyer and is earning his doctorate in law, later he will teach as a professor. His work will frequently bring him to Germany, for example to the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, where his German language skills will be very beneficial. So, after passing the German course at the Goethe-Institut, Ivo Josipović had quite an impressive career. His latest achievement: on 10 January, Ivo Josipović was elected the new President of Croatia.
