Roswitha in the OrientRoswitha is amazed when she sees the magnificent buildings of the orient – not every German hand puppet is given such an opportunity. With their tour guides, the puppeteers Olaf Möller and Sabine Schroeder-Zobel, Roswitha and her friends gave a guest performance at the Goethe-Institut Tashkent. During the Germany Weeks in Uzbekistan over 700 children were rapt by Paula in Danger. The play was presented to the young audience in simple German. The plot, too, was reminiscent of the land of “poets and thinkers”: Heinrich promises Paula her brother will leave her alone, she will get good marks in school and wealth – in return for Paula’s soul! Yet, unlike Goethe’s Faust, this story has a happy ending.
