Role Reversal

Who’s watching who here? Clemens von Wedemeyer transformed the main railway station in Münster into a huge film set for his docu-fiction From the Opposite Side. He combined scenes by actors with scenes taken by hidden camera, resulting in a reversal of roles: performers become passers-by and secretly filmed passers-by become performers. The camera captures the people’s very different views so the audience wonders which of the characters on the screen are acting and which are there simply by chance. From the Opposite Side is part of the Repetition Festival Show at the Project Arts Centre Dublin.
