Goethe in Prison
A new take on tough guys: For two months, the Berlin penitentiary theatre group aufBruch worked with 29 inmates of the Chilean men’s penitentiary Colina 1, giving them the opportunity to escape at least momentarily from the rough routine of South American prison life. The performance of the resulting play Vamos al Oro! became the highlight of the First International Theatre & Prison Symposium. For the first time, representatives of prison theatre from eleven Latin American and European countries met there for discussions, workshops and theatrical performances.
