Expedition in a Magnetic Field
What can you hear? Electronic networks. The noises they make – their timbres and volumes – vary from place to place and from country to country. Yet they have one thing in common: they’re everywhere – generated by lighting systems, surveillance systems, wireless Internet or even high voltage power lines. The “Electrical Walk” was created by the artist Christina Kubisch. From 17 June until 21 July, visitors to Nancy can take a customized listening expedition with an electromagnetic map and special wireless earphones, letting them hear what is normally hidden to them.
