I spy, …

…with my little eye, something that looks typical for the primeval forest: lush green, dense undergrowth, mossy and not much sunlight. But, at second glance, there is something very different hidden between the wild-growing plants: an abandoned automobile covered in moss and entangled in vines. All that are visible are the fender, a headlamp and a little paint. The mysterious pictures were shot by the German photographer Eric Klemm deep in the primeval forest of British Columbia (Canada). The series of photographs is called „Metamorphosis“ and shows abandoned vehicles that have gone through a process of transformation over the years, at the end of which Klemm reveals them like self-contained objets d'art. The “forest collection” was shown to Klemm by the Canadian scrap yard owner Bruce Smith, who owns the property and the cars. The photos can be viewed until 20 October at the Goethe-Institut Paris, before the exhibition tours through other French cities.
