Art, Naturally
Here we are again, biology class with its most important chapter: photosynthesis. It taught us that plants cannot acquire energy from a spotlight. Art does not dispute that, though. This installation by Annika Rixen is about light and composition, namely “photo synthesis.” Rixen’s exhibition Sciences of Observation is the fourth of ten projects by the initiative “Goethe Satellite Vancouver” . Over the course of ten years, in the cultural city about 70 artists from Germany and Canada will present extraordinary works that break through previous art practices.
