Alone Together
We usually dream of one day meeting the right person at the right time and right place. “KIKAR is just the opposite: you meet the wrong person at the wrong place and wrong time,” says the Berlin-based Israeli choreographer Nir De Volff of his new piece that was produced in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut São Paulo. In KIKAR (Hebrew for “plaza”) the dancers portray coincidental encounters; human behaviour in public spaces. In doing so, they cannot deny their identities, their needs, and longings. The German-Israeli-Brazilian coproduction was presented at the festival No palco! in São Paulo in April.
