Singing Concrete
Tvísöngur, the approximately 2,000-year-old cultural heritage of Icelandic twin singing, may soon be a forgotten art. Now, with the support of the Goethe-Institut, sculptor Lukas Kühne has carved the musical principle of five-voiced singing in stone. The sound sculpture “TVISÖNGUR, shelter” consists of five accessible domes that invite visitors year round to experiment with the interaction of frequency and dimension.
