Night and Neon
Usually in Johannesburg when darkness falls the pavements are rolled up. But, the multimedia and games festival A MAZE. Interact recently converted streets, squares and even the roofs of houses into a huge playground for the city’s inhabitants. Andrej Boleslavský’s light painting performances for participants were exceedingly popular. Visitors painted patterns with LED lights and bold circles with neon swords in the night sky. The fleeting light artworks were captured for posterity by a time-exposure camera.
