Phoenix Rising from the Trash
This artist’s phoenix, an oversized rooster with a fiery red comb, is not rising from the ashes, but simply from plastic rubbish. The sustainability project RE-MEX - El Poder de las Artes aims to do no less than to effect social, urban and environmental change with the help of art. The Goethe-Institut Mexico and its partners have brought artists from around the world together with young people from the fringes of Mexico City to push for change.
