In 2012 the Goethe-Institut centres in Brazil invited German comic artists Aisha Franz, Birgit Weyhe and Mawil to a residential event lasting several weeks in South America. There was a reciprocal event in which three Brazilian artists - Amaral, Paula Mastroberti and João Montanaro – also travelled around Germany. They published the impressions and experiences they had collected in the foreign country within the scope of the “Osmosis” project as a regular comic strip in a blog. The printed edition, “Osmosis: Brazil and Germany in Comics”, has now been published in time for the Book Fair.
Artists Paula Mastroberti, Mawil and Birgit Weyhe, along with journalist and “Osmosis” curator Augusto Paim are presenting the book in the Comic-Zentrum, where they will be recounting a journey that was quite extraordinary.
