Two young authors, two spectacular debut novels, two stories of awareness, foreign lands and finiteness: Carmen Stephan’s novel “Mal Aria” takes us to Brazil – where an Anopheles mosquito of all things is dismantling our anthropocentric world view. In “Der Russe ist einer, der Birken liebt” (All Russians love birch trees), Olga Grjasnowa reflects a generation that knows no limits but also no home any more.
At the Book Fair the two authors talk about their experience with home and foreign lands, current projects and about their stay in Brazil, where they spent several weeks as “writers in residence” at the invitation of the Goethe-Institut.
