The Goethe-Institut conveys an up-to-date image of the diversity of music in Germany and initiates dialogue and exchange between artists at home and abroad. Every year, a number of music projects take place with professionals as well as amateur and young talent, such as tours, concerts, master classes, workshops and symposiums. They cover the entire spectrum of genres in German music: early and classical music, jazz, rock and pop, electronica, sound art and contemporary classical music.
The Music Division at the Munich head office acts as a consultant and motivator for the Goethe-Instituts abroad and the German embassies. Two volunteer artistic advisory boards support the division in its work.
