The Goethe-Institut’s Science and Current Affairs Division identifies thematic focal points being hotly debated in the fields of the humanities, and social and the cultural sciences. These themes are taken up in the programmes of events of the institutes abroad and events in Germany.
In addition, the Goethe-Institut establishes contacts with partners the world over and with institutions in Germany that deal with subject matter from science and current affairs.
Around the world, speakers are entered into a dialogue with local people in discussion events.
In the scope of special programmes, the Goethe-Institut assists alumni and particularly promotes dialogue with the Muslim world.
