Copyright: CMS The Center for Metropolitan Studies (CMS) is an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented research centre and constitutes the institutional framework of the Berlin-New York Transatlantic Graduate Research Program. It enables exchange between established researchers from all Berlin universities and leading representatives of urban research in the USA and next-generation researchers from around the world.

In addition to research and consultation, the CMS promotes the advancement of international next-generation researchers and sets impulses for increased cooperation and communication among actors from the sciences, business, policy-making and civil society. Researchers and experts from a wide range of disciplines are invited to cooperate in studying the every-day problems that metropolises face and to develop concrete solutions.
The programme is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
