The IZE is a joint project of three faculties represented at the Viadrina European University – law, cultural sciences and economics. Overall, 14 professorships contribute to the IZE's activities. The IZE's goal is to deepen understanding of ethical issues in research and teaching through organising symposia, workshops and lectures, allocation of dissertation topics, support of relevant research activities and cooperation with other ethics centres in Germany and internationally. The IZE places great value on exchange with researchers from the transition countries of Eastern Europe and cooperates with universities on a global basis.
