The Hans Bredow Institute conducts media research with the goal of understanding the influence of the media on every-day life, politics, business and culture, evaluating developments and risks, and developing courses of action. The institute works independently and is interdisciplinary in orientation. The institute's fundamental perspectives in communications and law are combined with additional approaches, such as economics and education science. Media research of this kind presupposes cooperation, and the institute therefore deals with international comparative issues as well as cultivating continuing exchange.
