The Institute for Applied Ecology is a renowned, independent environmental research institute. It produces baseline studies and strategies for implementing the vision of sustainable global, national and local development. More than 85 researchers work on approximately 200 national and international projects annually. Focal points are chemical management and technology assessment, energy and climate, pollutant and radiation protection, agriculture and biodiversity, sustainability in consumption, mobility, resource economy and businesses, nuclear technology and plant safety as well as law, policy making and governance.
The institute prepares expert scientific opinions and advises policy makers, environmental organisations, institutions and firms.
