The Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM) at Leuphana University Lüneburg analyses the causes, structures and processes of environmental, social and sustainability problems by applying the methods of management science, entrepreneurship, and environmental and sustainability studies. On this basis, concepts and sustainability solutions are developed for companies, the economy and society. One focus is on linking the ecological, social and economic dimensions of sustainability management.
The CSM offers a distance-learning MBA in sustainability management – the world’s first MBA in sustainability management and corporate social responsibility (CSR). In addition, the CSM is involved in designing teaching programmes and events on CSR and sustainability management at Leuphana University Lüneburg and other universities.
Research is international in orientation and encompasses a broad spectrum of subjects within the field of sustainability management (cf. areas of research focus and publications). An additional focus is placed on knowledge transfer with approaches and forums such as the Sustainability Leadership Forum (SLF) and the Innovationsnetzwerk Nachhaltiger Mittelstand (INaMi), an innovation network for sustainable small- and medium-sized companies.
