Bremen based librarian keen on thinking outside the box.

Catharina Boss private What’s a library to you?

What’s the single most essential thing you need in your everyday work?

The single most essential thing that I need in my everyday work is a glass of ice-cold cola with a piece of lemon. It keeps my engine running.

What was the most memorable experience you ever had in a library?

I still remember the moment I first met one of our regular patrons, a now 94-year-old lady, who has lost her eyesight. She used to be an avid reader. These days, she relies on us to provide her with enjoyable audiobooks.

At least, this is the predominant idea associated with libraries. But are libraries truly safe spaces? And how do perspectives change internationally, Catharina Boss questions.
