What’s a library to you?
Especially the public library is no longer defined by the number of books it has on its shelves, but rather it is now about being a living space for the community. Libraries must adapt to the needs and expectations of modern society, which includes offering digital resources and up-to-date skills development opportunities. More than ever libraries should listen to the needs of the public and doing whatever they can to accommodate them.
What’s the single most essential thing you need in your everyday work?
The most important thing for me is our team here and the daily communication between us (preferably over a cup of coffee) about important tasks and news.
What was the most memorable experience you ever had in a library?
Libraries were the only way to keep up with my reading habit. I discovered a lot of romances here that I still remember well. There our city librarian told me all about her work and I was so fascinated by her passion for the library and for what it stands for. I always remember this speech as long as I visit the small city library in my home town.
