Conditions of Funding

Solo artists and small ensembles in Germany and non-German-speaking countries working together as partners

We especially welcome participants from developing and transition countries.

We fund virtual partnerships for purposes of joint artistic research, the development of musical compositions, concepts and projects, pre-production and the development of innovative digital projects. Interdisciplinary and other music-centred formats may be eligible for funding as well. This grant comes to €1,200 per partner.

This funding is not intended for predominantly private exchanges, live-streaming concerts, projects of a commercial nature or within the framework of an academic or training programme, or projects already started and/or substantially funded by other means.

  • Professional artists and ensembles with proven experience in the music scene
  • Lasting partnership and project
  • Project duration of two to six weeks

Applications may be submitted by an artist or ensemble based in Germany or in a non-German-speaking country, but at least one participant in the project must be resident in Germany. If your request for funding is granted, we will conclude an agreement with both partners in the project.
