Leipzig / Early Music International Bach Competition

Premiered in 1950, the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition has been held every other year since 1996. In three rotating disciplines the entrants are to demonstrate their “stage-readiness” and experience in the techniques of the stylistic periods covered in the competition programme. And they’re to study the pieces in their Urtext editions.
