Kuala Lumpur: Artist residency at Lostgens

Who: Artists from Germany

Section: Visual Arts

Duration: 3 months

The Goethe-Institut Malaysia and Lostgens (Lostgens Contemporary Art Space) have been jointly conducting this three-month artist residency since 2010. Lostgens is an association and space initiated by artists that is strongly committed to public art. Its studio in Chinatown makes it possible for guest artists to work in the historical centre of the city. It is also the site of exhibitions, artist talks and workshops.

Lostgens’s good network facilitates dialogues between residency fellows and local artists who are exploring the social and cultural scene. In this way the residency programme supports the continuing education and development of artists who work in social and communal contexts, creating intense and sustainable encounters.
