Belarus: Laboratory of Jewish Cultural Heritage

The Laboratory of Jewish Cultural Heritage contributes to the revival of Jewish cultural heritage in Belarus – with strategic planning of a museum, virtual securing of evidence at historic sites and popularisation of the Jewish culture.
The goal is to write this under-exposed part of Belarusian cultural history into the European ideology of remembrance. Three project modules form a platform for dialogue at a specialised and non-governmental level, as well as for cultural production. The long-term objective of the project is to establish a modern Jewish Museum, even if this cannot be achieved within the project term of eighteen months. Instead the project consortium is prioritising creation of the conditions required for establishment of a museum during this period.
