RULES OF THUMB AND SKINNED KNEES
What is the up-and-coming generation writing about?
The president of the Goethe-Institut Klaus-Dieter Lehmann talks with the Serbian Brücke-Berlin awardee Iva Brdar (Daumenregeln) and the Croatian playwright and author Dino Pešut (Der (vor)letzte Panda oder Die Statik) who was recently awarded the Deutsche Jugendtheaterpreis and just published his debut novel Poderana koljena. The award-winning playwright and the prize-winning author are on the road, and both have found a new home, at least for a time, in Berlin. Their characters are also on the road, and as seekers, their homelands are always behind them. They all know the promises of the West, but what about the experience? A report on the political situation in young Europe.
With Klaus-Dieter Lehmann, president of the Goethe-Institut; Iva Brdar, playwright; Dino Pešut, playwright; moderator: Jürgen Jakob Becker
The event is organised in collaboration with TRADUKI, the Cultural Ministry of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.
