A GOOD EUROPEAN: A discussion of the concept of freedom in Europe.
The promise that the concept of freedom long harboured has lost its appeal. Being free is either taken too for granted by the people of Europe – or has gained too many, often very different meanings. How do we deal with that? How do we unite an awareness of tradition and self-determination? For the Goethe-Institut, eight European authors have attempted to answer these and other questions about freedom and the loss of free spaces in fiction. Two of the authors will participate in the discussion.
With Tanja Dückers, author; Nasrin Siege, author; moderator: Julia Eikmann
The event is organised in collaboration with ARTE.
