There are surely better places for a hearty meal than a rush-hour street crossing in Accra. These two men are therefore consuming their meal rather hastily. On their plates is fufuo with abenkwan, a traditional Ghanaian dish made of cassava und palm nuts. Its preparation is adapting more and more to globalized standards. The performance Abenkwan in the Speed of Light – Baasa Kro by Emmanuel “DK” Osei-Yaw, funded by the Goethe-Institut Ghana, invites us to think about time, culture and everyday necessities.
