Goethe-Institut Damascus in Exile

From the balcony of his parental home in an Armenian suburb of Aleppo, the director documents daily life on the streets and the perceptible approach of the civil war. As war arrives in his street, Kaprealian films the increasingly unbearable life in his four walls, surrounded by snipers and gunfire. The only option that seems available to the Armenian family is to leave behind their home and their lives in order to avoid certain death – a traumatic family experience that has been played out many times.
