WRITING TO SURVIVE – WOMEN AUTHORS FROM IRAQ INTRODUCE THEIR PROSE AND POETRY

Friday, 13 Oktober 2017, 3.00 – 4.00 pm

Reading, lecture, presentation (German / English / Arabic)

Since publication of the anthology entitled “Through the eyes of Inana” in 2013, a group of female writers has been campaigning for Iraqi women authors to be more visible – both in their own country and internationally. Three representatives of the Inana Network present their prose and poetry, and talk about the internationally unique literature project between Iraq, Germany and France. The event provides insight into a country fraught with conflict and the power of the written word in times of crisis. The Inana Project is a cooperation between the Felsberger Institut and the Goethe-Institut Iraq and was supported by the Franco-German Cultural Fund in 2017. You can find the Schiler Verlag at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Hall 4.1, Stand E75.
