Alexander Koch (Berlin)

Alexander Koch, curator and author, studied fine arts. From 2000 to 2005 he was a university lecturer in Leipzig in graphics and book art. In 2008 he became the co-founder of the KOW Gallery in Berlin, as well as co-initiator and director of new patrons in Germany. Since 2013 he has been initiating new patron projects in Nigeria, Cameroon, India and other countries. Numerous exhibitions and publications put across his idea of art that is anti-representational and socially oriented. As a theorist Koch wrote fundamental texts about withdrawal from art and the internal differences within the field of art.
