Jörg Heiser is co-editor-in-chief of frieze, publisher of frieze d/e and art critic writing for, amongst others, the Süddeutsche Zeitung. He is a visiting professor at the University of Art in Linz and teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg. After studying philosophy his dissertation in philosophy was published in September with the title Doppelleben Kunst und Popmusik (Double lives between art and pop music; Fundus/Philo Fine Arts). In 2007 his work Plötzlich diese Übersicht. Was gute zeitgenössische Kunst ausmacht (All of a Sudden: Things that Matter in Contemporary Art; Ullstein/Claassen) was published, as well as the volume Sculpture Unlimited II (Sternberg Press, co-editor Eva Grubinger) in May 2015. Heiser curated, amongst numerous others, the exhibition Romantischer Konzeptualismus (Romantic Conceptualism; Kunsthalle Nürnberg and Bawag Foundation Vienna, 2007, catalogue). He lives in Berlin.
