Arriving and gaining a foothold in Berlin
Rapid Transit for Architects in Berlin is for all newly arrived architects and planners in Berlin as well as others with an interest in architecture. Relevant institutions from five areas are listed in it: profession, study, counselling, cultural networks and scholarships. They provide assistance about how architects can contribute their professional knowledge to Berlin.
The event will focus on the institutions listed by the map and the questions: What are the others doing? How do they work? How can we network and promote and strengthen the existing network?
Rapid Transit for Architects in Berlin is available as a folded poster. It can also be downloaded from the Internet: www.goethe.de/Architektenfahrplan
The development of the Rapid Transit for Architects in Berlin
also resulted in the German-Arabic Architectural Vocabulary List. It can be downloaded at: www.goethe.de/Fachsprache-Architektur
The idea for the map originated during the workshop Daily Life in Exile
, which was held during the German-Syrian cultural exchange festival Goethe-Institut Damascus | In Exile
in 2016. The workshop participants asked what Syrian architects need to gain a foothold in Berlin with their professional skills.
The event is for people interested in architecture and people working with refugees.
Welcoming addresses will be held by the Berlin Chamber of Architects and the Federal Ministry for Building.
