The blended learning format combines the advantages of face-to-face classes with those of virtual learning.
Our blended learning courses are taking place completely online at present. The face-to-face phases are held as live sessions using the Zoom conferencing tool. You will use the Goethe-Institut’s learning platform for the self-study phases. Your teacher will give you an introduction to all the relevant tools. Our standard terms and conditions (AGB) apply.

Access to learning platform
How it works
You will be given access to our online platform, which is where you will find the online part of your course. This online part features motivating and varied exercises, flash cards to help you practise your vocabulary, and summaries of all key grammar structures and useful phrases that you learn during the course.
Most of the online activities are run on an individual basis. However, there are also a number of interactive exercise types that you and your learning group can work on together on the online platform. These group activities include for example short texts about your hobbies, interests or upcoming events. You will also taking part in group discussions and comment on texts written by your fellow students.
Support from the teacher
Your online teacher will give you weekly homework exercises that you can do at your own pace at any time during the week. You will prepare these exercises in the face-to-face sessions in which you meet with your class.
Online teaching in live sessions
You will meet your teacher and fellow students in your virtual classroom on the days and at the times specified. The conferencing tool Zoom will be used for the live sessions.

The weekly study time is divided into two parts:
- 90/180 minutes a week of live group classes
- 90/180 minutes of independent online learning
- A Windows or Mac desktop or laptop computer. We do not recommend using tablets, cell phones, or other mobile devices for this course.
- A dedicated headset (headphones and microphone). If you use the built-in speakers and microphone on your laptop, you and other students in your class may experience an undesirable echo effect.
- Please don't login via the browser, but download the free Zoom application before you join an online live session. (Your online tutor will send you the link.)
