The Goethe-Institut Australien supports young emerging Australian opera singers in the early status of their musical career. The following programs are supported by a German language course:
The German-Australian Opera Grant includes a one-year junior employment at the Wiesbaden Opera House, as well as a one-month German course at a Goethe-Institut in Germany and a preparatory phase prior to the employment, to gain an insight into the procedures of an opera house. The beneficiary will additionally receive a cheque of over $4500 as financial support for the preparatory phase in Australia and their time overseas.

The Deutsche Oper Berlin Award will employ the winner as a member of the Deutsche Opera Berlin for a period of ten months. Additionally, this grant covers the costs for a one-month German course at the Goethe-Institut in Berlin, travel expenses and living expenses for one month.
