Join Melbourne-based artist Darren Sylvester as he leads a conversation with ‘Grandfathers of techno’, Gabi Delgado-Lopez and Robert Görl of German electro-punk band DAF and French electronic music producer Caroline Herve, better known by her stage name Miss Kittin.
Known for experimental and controversial electronic music, the Elektro-Punk-Band D.A.F. was founded in 1978 in Wuppertal. The two musicians not only revolutionized the music genre, they also turned the stages upside down. Hidden behind a technology and keyboard tower, they brought a whole new kind of music to the stage, whose degree of provocation reached its climax with the hit single "The Mussolini".
D.A.F. count as a pioneer and inspiration for the genres Electropunk, Electronic Body Music and Techno.
