Kaufmann/Gratkowski/de Joode Trio: Brisbane

The Kaufmann/Gratkowski/de Joode Trio features Achim Kaufmann on piano, Frank Gratkowski on clarinets and saxophone, and Wilbert de Joode on double bass. The musicians combine the acoustic transparency of contemporary chamber music with the energy, the rhythmic momentum and unpredictability of jazz. Thanks to several international tours and many album recordings the three improvisers are exceptionally well attuned to each other.

The trio will appear in Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane and Canberra. In addition to the public concerts, the group will host several improvisation workshops for students. The tour is supported by the Goethe-Institut.
