With performance artist Jürgen Fritz (Frankfurt/Main)

Meat Market

Jürgen Fritz is a German performance artist and co-founder of the highly acclaimed art project Black Market International. In February he will come to Australia to present his live art perfomance, Cloth.

Audience members become a part of the performance and get to meet the Frankfurt artist as he invites them to a delightful dinner or lunch taking place in an artwork itself - a giant tablecloth created by German installation artist Christine Biehler.

This unusual but innovative concept is part of a project by director Xan ColmanDining Room Tales is a long-term global performance project centred around food, diversity and the role food-sharing plays in building the spirit of our communities. Audiences are invited to spend an evening together around a table, hosted by an internationally-acclaimed artist. The host artist invites you into parts of their life and interests and prepares for you a communal meal to share between moments of formal and informal performance.

Following its premiere in Helsinki, and performances in Frankfurt (Germany) in December 2018, join Jürgen Fritz and Xan Colman for this Australian premiere in Melbourne and Sydney.

The event series is presented by A is for Atlas, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut.
