Guided Tour and Workshop
Comic Workshop with Bernard Caleo
BERNARD CALEO explores Comic Stories from Germany
In celebration of our 50th birthday, we are thrilled to present, in partnership with LE MONDE diplomatique, “White Bunnies, Arabic Cola and the Last Passenger Pigeon: COMIC STORIES FROM GERMANY.
This unique comic exhibition features the comics of 50 German artists such as ATAK, Anke Feuchtenberger, Holger Fickelscherer, Line Hoven and Mawil to name a few. Furthermore, we are especially proud to also present 6 Australian artists who contributed to the exhibition.
One of these local artists is Melbourne "comic-icon" Bernard Caleo, who will guide you through the exhibition exploring the different styles and story-angles you can observe.
In a "mini-workshop" Bernard will show you how to find your "inner voice" and learn how to tell a story using the artistic language of a comic.
Bernard Caleo has edited romance comics anthologies, made a feature documentary on graphic novels, and inaugurated a graphic novel publishinmg enterprise. He is not just a comics maker, he teaches and "breathes" COMICS... so, who knows, he may help you to find your very own two-dimensional alter ego!?
Workshop fee is 15.00 AUD. Registrations here: Eventbrite
The event is for adults (18+).
