About Rosa Barba
Rosa Barba is a German artist and filmmaker who balances conceptualism with a distinctly personal vision in her work. Experimenting with time-based forms, she expands their potential to become not only sculptural objects, installations or architectural sites but also speculations, in an ever-changing process of transformation.
About the Film
Inside the Outset: Evoking a Space of Passage (2021) is a 31-minute film and a long-term open-air cinema installation following an invitation by Point Centre for Contemporary Art in Nicosia. Exclusively shot in Cyprus, the film investigates the loaded, transforming topography already palpable in the landscape before we understand what language it creates for our society. In that, it follows Barba's artistic approach to examining liminal states that manifest between contested spaces, mentally and geographically, to allow for a new perspective.
