Concert
Sjaella | Hobart | 'Transcendence'
The Leipzig-based vocal group comes to Australia
Sjaella has been a fixture on the international vocal music scene for years, performing concerts at renowned festivals and winning many competitions. The Leipzig-based ensemble has been on concert tours to South Africa, Belgium, Spain and Norway and is now coming to Australia.
Sjaella is the soul of the women who appear together on stage. They cherish a child-like experience of the world, in which community feeds on play and individual strength. There is movement, language sound, there are bodies, focus, and shared breath.
The six young women rethink what seems well-known, find new sounds, and bring everything into an artistic context. Their album Origins is like life itself: a cycle consisting of many smaller ones, connected in a way that can only be seen when appreciated as a whole.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see the acclaimed group perform in Australia.
This tour is supported by the Goethe-Institut.
