Screening
Ute Aurand | Melbourne
Cinematic Exploration of 16mm films
This screening explores a selection of 16mm film-works created by the renowned Berlin experimental filmmaker Ute Aurand. She shares a deep dedication to film as both a material and poetic medium. Encompassing both the minute and the epic, her works speak of their own material and manual processes; of the personal, creative pursuit of the filmmaker.
Aurand is committed to screening her films in the unique environment of the cinema, using the physical format of 16mm film. As such, her films have rarely been screened beyond Europe and America. This event provides Australian audiences with a unique chance to view restored and preserved film prints.
The films shown will include Ute Aurand's OH! The Four Seasons / OH! die vier Jahreszeiten, Kopfüber im Geäst, Am Meer, Im Park, Paulina, Franz, Zuoz and Sakura, Sakura.
