Exhibition
Totally East – Life in East Germany
Photos by Harald Hauswald, texts by Stefan Wolle
This poster exhibition powerfully portrays everyday situations in the GDR. Harald Hauswald’s photos tell tales of loneliness, authority and rebellion along with moments of endearment and serenity.
The photographer is a founding member of the renowned OSTKREUZ photographer agency. The texts were written by the historian and author Stefan Wolle, who, like the photographer, grew up in the GDR. The exhibition panels are equipped with QR codes that link to short video interviews on Youtube, in which the photographer reports on how and in what context the respective photo of the panel was taken.
