School Film Festival

Each year students all over Australia produce short films which are screened in the German School Film Festival finals in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

Filmmakers, get ready! The time has come.

This year, the German School Film Festival will take you on a journey into the future: "GERMANY IN THE YEAR 3017".

Imagine life in the Year 3017. What will the world, what will Germany look like? Will we still live in houses; will people dress the same and will our lives be entirely controlled by technology? Tell us your story and remember there are no limits to creativity.

Register now! Further information, terms and conditions and online registration forms are available here.

The more than 28 entries, that were sent from ACT, NSW and QLD last year, demonstrate how creativity and the study of German can be combined. The films were presented on 19 October 2017 in Chauvel Cinema in Sydney.

The School Film Festival 2016 was held on 7 September at The Regal Theatre in Adelaide. 17 amazing films from SA and WA were screened.

The topic of the School Film Festival 2016, "When I grow up..." resulted in a great number of fantastic shortfilms which were presented at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne on 19 October.

National School Film Award

The nine winning films from the finals in Adelaide, Melbourne und Sydney were competing against each other. The films with the most votes won the National German School Film Award 2016 and a DVD.
