The Goethe-Institut rents out its event hall to the following organisations:

  • Cultural organisations
  • Music ensembles
  • Small theatre groups and other community organisations
Corporate events as well as conferences can also be held at our event hall. The Goethe-Institut is located in one of the most prestigious streets in Sydney and is situated in a beautiful heritage-listed building in Woollahra. The venue booking fee is $650 excl. GST. The total amount must be paid prior to the event (a 90% refund will be paid if the event is cancelled at least three days prior to the event date).

Our event hall includes the following: chairs, a small stage, use of a baby grand piano (Model: Piano K Kawai), a lecture stand, microphones, a flip chart and a video and an audio system. The hall is suitable for up to 120 people. The piano is included in the booking fee. However, if you wish to tune the piano, please organise the tuner to come in at your own cost during regular business hours.

Furthermore, our light-flooded foyer and a modern kitchen can also be utilised for your function at no extra cost. The kitchen can be used for catering purposes. Our spacious balcony - fully equipped with tables and chairs - connected to the foyer is also included in the venue price. It is an ideal spot to serve snacks and drinks.

Please note that all functions have to comply with the guidelines of the Goethe-Institut Sydney.

Please contact us if you wish to inspect our event hall.
