For Students in Years 1-4
For the third consecutive year and on behalf of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD), the Goethe-Institut invites young language learners of German, Italian, Spanish, French and Greek to this primary student day. The importance of European languages goes beyond the European continent. Many of these languages pay an important global role and have a strong history in Australia. The fledgling European Languages Festival already enjoys considerable popularity and its aim is to support and nurture some of these European languages amongst young language learners in Victoria from an early age. It wishes to provide interesting opportunities for these young learners to celebrate, share and develop their first achievements. This year’s theme of LanguageVision focuses on a strong and joint future for European languages in Victoria.
The day takes place at Melbourne’s iconic NGV International and promises to revive the interest of our young learners with exciting artistic and musical contributions and activities. The major part of the event will be an NGV Educator led tour of the NGV’s permanent collection and a performance in the Great Hall.
This project has been made possible through the generous financial support of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) and the further financial contribution of the participating language teachers' associations and European institutions in Australia.
Entry is free but you must register and registration is binding. We kindly ask to consider numbers carefully before booking.
Registration closed on 21 March and the event is booked out.
