Mirella Younes

My name is Mirella Younes, I’m 26 years old, I come from Aleppo, I studied graphic design in the faculty of fine arts there, but I didn’t get a diploma because I’ve left the country 3 months before my final exams.

I came to Belgium, I did the language courses and when I finished I wanted to continue my study of art, but this time I wanted to change from graphic design to painting and sculpting because this is what I love the most.

I participated in 3 exhibitions in Belgium, two of them were with the commune of Wezembeek-Oppem, and the third one was with “Young Art Group” in Brussels.

In my installation for Tourab, I want to show that everyone is fighting in our territory and the only victims are the civilians...
The barrel and the mortar were both used as weapons by the opponents.
The black threads are all the bad things imaginable that could exist during a time of war...
I'm against killing and blood, but there never is a fair war.
